Hi Pedro,
Unfortunately, you'll need Flash CS5 in order to build the projects. You can use FlashDevelop as your code editor (which I recommend whole-heartedly), but CS5 is necessary to compile FLA files.
You can get the 30-day trial from Adobe if you don't have the software.
Cheers,
Chris

Hi, I've downloaded the files and added them to my project but when I run the project only a blanks screen appears. Maybe i'm not putting the fla file in the right place.
I'm using Flash Develop.
Can you help me?

I used StarUML for a while, primarily because it's free and there's a code generation plugin. Because I don't use UML extensively when producing games (it has a lot more place in applications), a simple tool sufficed. I was excited for a while about a tool that never got finished called Saffron - basically a beautiful AS3 successor to gModeler. That project died off, but I recently came across a <a href="http://crocusmodeller.com/free/" rel="nofollow">new tool</a> which seems promising. Check it out!

Is StarUML the best UML -> AS3 software out there? I noticed on the website that the most recent download appears to be some time in 2006?

Is it more that it is a great price (free!)? Are there other alternatives that you would recommend? What about Enterprise Architect is it worth the money?

Thanks.

Hi Tom,
That book was cancelled when Apple restricted its policy around iOS apps. I had made it about halfway through at the time. When they lifted their restrictions, rather than starting the book up again (and since my publisher was wanting me to produce a 2nd edition of the first book), we agreed that I would roll the mobile material into this new version. The last two physical chapters and 3rd bonus online chapter represent that material, some of it slightly modified to include Android as well. Thanks for your interest and maybe there will be another book in the future!

Hi Chris,

I came across a different book on Amazon called iPhone Game Development with Flash CSX: Creating iPhone Games in Flash CSX from Start to Finish. The site says the book is out of print. Will you be releasing it or something similar in the future?

Thanks!

Hey Chris,

I brought your 2nd addition of the flash book and am going through it at the moment. I am pretty exciting to begin my 1st flash game. However, I am actually surprised that you didn't include tutorials or introductions to Flashpunk/Flixel libraries...

Other than that. I am still going through the examples and the files from your website. :D

Regards,
A.J
